OLD YELLOW MEETING HOUSE CEMETERY Yellow Meeting House Road, Cream Ridge, Monmouth County, NJ
The Old Yellow Meeting House and its adjacent burying ground are situated on a country road near Imlaystown in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Here began the Upper Freehold Baptist Meeting, originally a branch of the Baptist congregation in Middletown as early as 1700 and organized as an independent church in 1766. Land for their meeting house was deeded to this earliest congregation by Thomas and Rachel Saltar in 1720.
MEMORIAL STONE, reads, "In Memory of the Pioneers of the Baptist Faith at Crosswicks and Upper Freehold to Perpetuate their blessed memories to future ages. Supposed site of First House of Worship, 1720".
